Natusara Primary, on Ono Island south of the mainland, is quite unique in a number of ways with regard its location. Firstly, to get into the school you need a small boat to cross the mudflats that are exposed half the time, so should you arrive on the low tide you may need to wait hours to get in. Once across the mud flat the school is 300m up a mangrove creek (see the feed for an image). Secondly, many years ago when the school was built, the three villages that it would service did not agree on which village it would be built, so the school was build not in either of the villages, rather roughly in the middle, so all the children board in the hostels and there are no other immediate buildings or services other than the school.
There batteries were carefully managed since installation in 2014, so server the school well, but new Lithium units installed in 2023 will look after the schools needs long into he future. See About panel for previous images and videos.
