Paradise Taveuni has been in operated by Aussie owners Allan & Terri Gortan for the last 14 years. Allan and Terri live in Paradise with their 3 children who have grown up in Paradise. Now holding dual citizenship, they call Fiji home and their business - Paradise Taveuni - is fully Fiji owned. Paradise hires over 65 staff year round which in turn supports hundreds of local Fijians that reside in the southern Taveuni area. Paradise supports the nearby Southern Taveuni School and is currently helping by building Play Centres for the Kindergarten. In 2020 Paradise hopes to add Play Centre to the Primary School. Paradise is proud to support the local community that in turn supports Paradise.


  • Paradise Taveuni is a Scuba Divers paradise and is situated only minutes from the legendary Rainbow Reef - a 32 km pristine reef system which is home to over 40 dive sites.
  • Owner Allan is a trained award winning Chef. Allan oversees the daily kitchen operations and insists on fresh local mostly organic produce is used in all dishes. You will find a strong emphasis on Fijian and Indian tastes, as well as western favourites.   • As Paradise is located in a secluded and and remote part of Fiji, all meals and airport transfers are included in the tariff.

  • Paradise Taveuni is on the way to self sustainability with a Hydroponic Farm producing lettuce and our vegetable farm supplying the kitchen with fresh fruit and vegetables year round. Our free range grain fed chickens supply fresh eggs daily to the kitchen. All food scraps from the table and our kitchen go to our hybrid pigs.

For sustainability

In 2019 we installed, in the bathrooms, dispensers of high quality body wash, shampoo and conditioner. This replaces the small single use bottles - this simple action is saving thousands of pieces plastic being used by the resort.
In room fridges have daily filled glass water bottles - there is no plastic bottled water in the rooms.
Across from the resort is our extensive vegetable garden and orchard of tropical fruit trees. Not only does that mean we can provide the freshest of produce in the restaurant, but the food has only travelled meters to the table. That significantly reduces the food miles compared to imported produce. Guests are welcomed on our garden tours to understand the local food plants.
Food waste is welcomed by our chickens, also across the road from the resort and of cause they give us all the eggs we need for restaurant.
When purchasing supplies for the property we choose items with as least plastic as possible.
We actively involved in, and promote engagement of others, in the clean up of plastic in the local community and the South Taveuni School.

One or more of our team spends at least 15 minutes each week (or at least one hour each month) picking up plastics in our area. So, we keep our small part of the earth as free of plastic as possible - it's a small action we do to protect marine and other wildlife. We hope all businesses and organisations in the world will join us in doing the same.
