About

Corrimal Rotary Club is a vibrant club with a great mix of people who have a passion about our local and international communities. We warmly welcome guests to experience Rotary fellowship and see how individuals can change the world through Rotary’s networks. You will find being a member of Rotary is not only richly satisfying but also personally rewarding and beneficial in many unexpected ways.

For sustainability

  • We have a member sustainability representative whose role is to give a brief report, at least monthly, about ours or other Rotary groups sustainability activities.
  • At least one member of our club/group is a member of the Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group and shares their communications. Visit ESRAG
  • We have a sustainability committee/group that regularly considers activities for the club.
  • Like a growing number of Rotary clubs, at least monthly some members meet for an hour to pick up plastics in our area. So, we keep a small part of the earth as free of plastic as possible - it's a small action we do to protect marine and other wildlife. We hope all all Rotary groups around the world will join us in doing the same.

Our projects

Plastic Pick Up, CREG

Started: 2017 Status: Ongoing
Like a growing number of Rotary clubs, at least monthly some members meet for an hour to pick up plastics in our area. So, we keep our small patch on the earth as free of plastic as possible and to protect marine and other wildlife. We go for a coffee and fellowship after. Our monthly anchor is to meet first Saturday of the month 8:00 AM at Corrimal Surf Club. Through activity that we formed CREG - Corrimal Rotary Environment Group and we now have rubbish pick up events most weeks - hey that might sound a bit dull, but we have a ton of fun and it's always packed with laughter. And it is evolving into other projects - watch this space.
If you would like a few tips on how to set up your club's monthly plastic pick up activity - only needs two people to kick it off - feel free to make contact.

Days for Girls

Started: 2016 Status: Ongoing
The Days for Girls (DfG) Pad is a washable, reusable, beautiful menstrual health product that’s built to last. Our patented design, which includes a protective shield and absorbent liner, is backed by the latest menstrual health research and a decade of feedback from women around the world. It is a truly sustainable solution that menstruators can count on month after month, for up to three years. We have included this as a sustainability project because of the potential of saving single use pads going to land fill (in the instances where women there could afford them)

Vuna School Solar Project

Started: 2019 Status: Completed
Many island schools struggle with no electricity supply – or rely on dirty diesel generators they can barely afford to run a couple of hours per day. The kids have little or no chance of a modern education. Its Time Foundation, with the generous support of its partners, provides clean, free electricity for lighting and computers and utterly transforms the education and prospects for these kids. The money saved on generator fuel creates decades of cash flow to buy computers and other desperately needed education resources. In some schools the teachers happily make modest contributions for their new 24 hour power, further contributing to education resources. Click the link button to see the Vuna Primary School technical details and extensive pictures and videos.

It’s happening. Our 60 trees and shrubs for sixty years planting is happening on Friday October 23. I am hoping it will be at 4 pm but that is yet to be confirmed by council. Trees take in carbon dioxide and store it in themselves, while producing the oxygen that we breathe. Hence, they are a significant defence against global warming. They filter the air of nasty pollutants, such as carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. They control climate by moderating the effects of sun, win
